Additional Session for Palouse Photo Workshop

I’m happy to announce that we are adding a third session for my Palouse Photo Workshop in 2024, since we have already sold out the two sessions that had already been scheduled. The additional workshop session will be held June 24-28, 2024.

The Palouse is a photographer’s paradise, featuring beautiful rolling hills planted with wheat, canola, and other crops; weathered old barns; and so much more.

This all-inclusive workshop features five full days of photography. All you need to do is get yourself to Pullman, Washington, and we’ll take care of everything else during the workshop. That includes your own hotel room, meals, transportation to our photo locations, and my expert instruction helping you capture beautiful photographs in this incredible area that I’ve been visiting for more than a decade.

New York City Photo Workshop in 2020

New York City has been my home for almost nine years now, and during that time I’ve gotten to know the city quite well. I’ve found that each neighborhood offers something a little different, and around every corner there are photographic possibilities.

If you would enjoy photographing the iconic scenes and hidden corners of New York City, then I invite you to join me for an all-inclusive five-day photo workshop experience in the “City that Never Sleeps”. We’ll photograph impressive skylines, interesting architecture, fascinating street scenes, and unique people.

Palouse Photo Workshops in 2020

I have been visiting the remarkable landscape and homesteads of the Palouse region of eastern Washington State for more than a decade now, typically spending three or four weeks in the area each spring. In all that time, I am still excited about the wonderful photographic opportunities and local experiences this area provides.

I am therefore very happy to announce that I will once again be leading two all-inclusive field photography workshops in the Palouse region in 2020. Registration is now open, so if you’d like to join me you’ll want to act quickly. All of the details of this unique field photography workshop can be found on my website here:

Nearly at the Antipode

As a photographer who loves to travel (which isn’t exactly the same as being a travel photographer), I love maps. I enjoy seeing where I am on a map, having GPS coordinates embedded in the metadata for my photos, and browsing a map to see where else I might like to visit.

As I write this I am teaching onboard a ship that is traveling across the Indian Ocean. It just so happens that this puts me reasonably close (at least in global terms) to the “antipode” of my home in New York City.

A photo captured in the Indian Ocean, looking toward the “antipode” of New York City.

So, what exactly is an “antipode”? It is a position exactly opposite another position on the planet. In other words, right now I am very nearly the farthest away from New York City that I can possibly be while on the surface of Earth. It is fascinating to me to ponder this little bit of trivia while looking out at the Indian Ocean toward the nearby antipode of New York City.

The red “target” is the position of the antipode of New York City, and the yellow marker above is the position from which the previous photo was captured.

From this point forward I will be working my way closer to New York, arriving in plenty of time for the all-inclusive field photography workshops I will be leading in May of this year.

If you’re interested in joining me for my New York City Photo Experience Workshop, there is still space available for this year’s second session (May 27-31, 2019). You can get all of the details on my Tim Grey Photo website here:

“Charm of Austria” Photo Workshop

I will once again be leading a photography workshop in Austria, this time focused on the “Charm of Austria” in Salzburg and the nearby Alps.

During the workshop we’ll explore small towns, rugged landscapes, mountain peaks, Alpine lakes, and more. You’ll capture great photographs and create cherished memories along the way. With a small group of just four photographers, you’ll get individual attention as we spend five full days exploring beautiful locations in Austria and Germany.

“Heart of Rome” Photo Workshop

I am happy to announce I will once again be leading a photography workshop in the heart of Rome, Italy, in 2019.

This workshop is all-inclusive and features five full days photographing in Rome. We’ll visit some of the most popular sights, and also explore many hidden corners of this incredible city. And with only six workshop participants, you’ll be able to get individual help with your photography and composition.
